Homebrew Biofuels... please share your experience & knowledge!

     Hello,

I just wanted to know if there is anyone out there who is experimenting with algae and/or biofuels on a smaller scale. I really feel that the entire biofuels industry would be revolutionized if individuals would work together and work at home. I picture this like the evolution of computers and the internet... it all started with (geeky) individuals messing around at home and coming up with something amazing. (Apple computers predecessor were made in Steve Jobs' garage).

I feel like Biofuels is suffering from following the "corporate model": focus on advancements from established businesses with big (relatively) budgets, investors, "high profile" test facilities, etc. What if biofuels followed the pattern of linux; open source and homebrewed (more or less)?

    Just my two cents...
